Comment PLANS for a link and build your own Floating Nightstand with a Hidden Drawer.

Transparency alert: it's $12

So because I know people will ask, here's the thought process:

Firstly, totally get it's not for everyone, but we love it!

The design intent is to help our nightstands not be so cluttered, so no, we don't have stuff top all the time (think minimalism). It also allows us to have cords that don't get tangled and pulled every time we open it (like normal drawers do).

The design also allows us to wirelessly charge our phones through top wood surface.

But yes, you can put stuff on top and still open it, maybe just not things with high-centers of gravity like a tall lamp. We have other ambient lighting in place, so there is no need for a lamp.

Otherwise, we have drinks, phones, remotes, books, and other stuff on top sometimes when we open them (check out our other reels to see this!).

And lastly, no, we don't hit our head on it ever because we don't roll out of bed. It's literally like any other nightstand you'd have by your bed just without legs. But I guess don't build it if you have issues rolling 🀷‍♀️

Hope that helps answer your concerns! Now who's going to build one?! 😁

Next, before you sweep it straight into the trash—WAIT. That stuff is basically DIY gold!

Instead of wasting it, try these two easy ways to reuse sawdust:
1️⃣ DIY Wood Filler: Mix fine sawdust with wood glue until it reaches a putty-like consistency. It blends into your project and sands down smooth—perfect for filling gaps! (Pro tip: Use sawdust from the same wood species for a seamless color match.)
2️⃣ Garden Booster: If your sawdust is from untreated wood and not mixed with anything else, sprinkle it in your garden as mulch or compost material. It helps retain moisture and adds organic matter to the soil.

Less waste, more DIY! Are you team "Sawdust = Treasure" or team "Get this mess out of here"?

PS, we LOVE our random orbital sander from @dewalttough and our 3M Xtract sandpaper from @3mabrasives πŸ’š shoot me a DM if you want a link to any of the tools you saw, including the Rubber block!
πŸ›  A rubber sanding block cleans off the dust in seconds, giving your sandpaper a second life.
πŸ’š Pro tip: Clean it every 10 minutes or so to keep things running smoothly!
✨️ Reminder that even with cleaning, sandpaper will still dulls over time, but we've found this helps it last significantly longer!

Did you know that DIY and construction projects co Did you know that DIY and construction projects contribute massively to landfill waste? But with a little planning, you can reduce waste AND save money! πŸ™Œ

πŸ›  One of the easiest ways? Buying materials in bulk and storing them in manageable containers.

✨ Instead of tossing out half-used glue bottles, screws, or finishes, stock up on what you need and portion it out for future projects. It keeps your workspace organized, reduces single-use packaging, and helps stretch your budget further!

βœ… Bonus tip: Repurpose containers you already have (like this ketchup bottle!) to dispense glue efficiently for large glue-ups—perfect for laminating boards like we did for our DIY hanging daybed!

⭐️And yes, we don't use the ketchup glue bottle for precision work as it can put a lot of glue out at once.
